Poverty

More Americans should realize that poverty is a serious matter, and we can overcome it! The poor need not be with us always!

We need  to get Americans to overcome their error that the poor are lazy and so forth.

Government can do more as that article recommends.

We as  society otherwise can help whether individually or collectively.  Ethicist Peter Singer has useful ideas about how we can help.

That ceiling!.

The  president must say no to the ceiling! He should do as former Pres. Clinton suggests: use the nuclear trigger of the Fourteenth Amendment. The ceiling cap violates the Constitution  by denying the president the right to spend as Congress already votes for  him to spend!
The extreme Republicans with their no  Norquist no new taxes threaten the economy. We all should look at what the Union needs and proceed to tax accordingly.
They would so trim the federal government to the role of the watch guard state that millions of Americans would suffer.
